BUSINESSCASUAL.

Corset - Elle Macpherson
Blazer - Express
Shorts - AE
Shoes - Local boutique
Bracelet, Clutch - Vintage

If corsets and denim cutoffs, all day every day, were socially acceptable (and fit my personal style) then I would live in them. But it's not often that I'm in the mood for a corset. I'd rather slump and hunch and slobble around. This Elle Macpherson corset is wired quite stiffly and I'm already having trouble with the wire getting bent in some areas. But comfortable or not, I love the new element that a nice corset can bring to an outfit. Underwear can be everyday wear. Especially under a basic blazer - to make it a bit more conservative, and with denim cutoffs - to create a more casual feel.
And as usual, here are some random photos of food and some other stuff.

Mmm, fresh strawberries.

Red bean soup.

Sarah's adorable dog, Annie.

Who else watched the PLL finale? Disappointed because I was 99% sure Ezra was A. I still bet he's part of the A team.

RECENT PURCHASES // RECENT PHOTOS

As you can tell from the title, I have some shots of a few of my favorite recent purchases + some photos from a few days of when I was kind of gone from blogging. Enjoy!

Jeans - Cheap Monday I've been looking for high waist, wide-leg jeans like these for a while and these were pretty much perfect. The only problem is that they are quite large for me and according to other people online, they stretch/elongate even more with wear. Damn short legs. I'll probably end up keeping them anyways. Necklace, Ring - Urban Outfitters

Corset - Elle Macpherson Great statement piece. Goes very nicely under blazers and whatnot. Plus it made me sit up very straight all through the school day. No more slouching over my desk! Clinique Even Better Foundation May be doing a separate review on my favorite beauty products / everyday makeup routine if you guys want to see that.
Some basic thin sweaters for the end of winter / the chillier beginnings of spring. Although it's turning out to be much much much warmer than I expected. Mid 80's tomorrow?!

And now on to some various photos from the span of a couple weeks back.

Recently found this lipstick (Viva Glam Gaga II) in the little space between the car seat and the door. I've been really liking it under a little bit of MAC's High Tea.

Yeeeee DECA.

Hotel room view. Oh, what lovely weather we had.

Very typical and crappy quality self-pic. But I really like this oriental-inspired robe / kimono from the H&M Conscious collection. My main reason for anticipating spring was just so I could wear this. We can't live in terrycloth forever.

My current read.

Hope you all are having a lovely week!

INFRINGEMENT.

Sweater - BICÉ
Top - Forever21
Skirt - Mother
Jewelry - Vintage, Calypso, Garage / Gift, Boutique
Shoes - Matisse

(Sorry it's been so long since an outfit post!)
I was feeling rather summer-y this morning, but it was a bit chilly at 8 in the morning - actually, it should have been 7, so I did end up having to throw on a sweater. But this particular top I found at Forever21 (who knew?!) was the perfect punch of summer and it's very airy, yet not too revealing with a bralette underneath. And it showcases my rather pale, un-toned midriff that has been winter-hibernating and hasn't seen the sun in months. It gives off a very ethnic/boho vibe when paired with this leather suede midi skirt that I'm obsessed with. It's very similar to one that Derek Lam showed in spring 2011 that I was seriously eyeballing.

That's all the info on the outfit itself. I spent the rest of the day studying (oh the life of a high schooler), doing some volunteer work, and a bit of shopping as well.
Below are some photos from this afternoon. (:

Nothing wrong with ice cream for lunch.

Free People has the best dressing rooms.

Acai berry tea at Panera.

Sarah's amazing cowgirl boots. (:
