OPENSTONE.

OPENSTONE

It's not often that I gravitate toward yellow anything. It's never really fit in well with the rest of my wardrobe and it clashes terribly with my skin at some points of the year. This open-knit sweater is one of the two or three yellow pieces I own and I'm really loving it. It would be perfect as a beach coverup on a drafty day, a pick-me-up in the gray winter, or a skin-brightener when my skin color makes me look like I've been dead for a couple years.

On the bottom, I have on a pair of black faux leather shorts. It's not often that I don't have some form of black leather in a look. And check out these shoeesssss. The last photo doesn't really do them justice. I love how thick the black resin looking heel is. Plus there's a platform of a good 1-1.5 inch; making them one of the most comfortable heels I own.

HEY SAILOR.

HEY SAILOR.
I know recent quality hasn't been exactly beautimous, but neither is the amount of sunshine we've been getting. Strange, since NC's typically blindingly sunny at this point.

As you may be able to tell, today at school was 'nautical day'. Never have I seen so many Guy-Harvey-T-shirt-loving southerners in their button downs and boat shoes. By third period, everything I looked at seemed to be covered in navy, black/white, or red stripes. Gotta love school spirit.

TRIPPED.

Probably the funnest and most colorful skirt I own. It's printed with some sort of trippy, psychedelic, island-y print that covers the full back and front of the skirt. Paired with a white blouse it becomes a lot more appropriate for a professional setting. But it's not just any basic white blouse. The collars have these very snazzy little gold tips, tied together with this superwoman-esque cuff.

MON AMIE LA ROSE.

Haven't been able to do an outfit post lately, so instead, here's a photo of some pretty roses that are sitting on my bathroom sink. Plus my favorite pumps which are from YesStyle.

UNIFORMITY.

Blouse - Vintage, Shorts - YesStyle, Scarf - Nordstrom, Shoes - ASOS

Basic silk blouses are the main anchor of my wardrobe. I love using them to polish up denim cutoffs or sweeten some leather. The dreamy blue color juxtaposes the shorts perfectly. Throw on an 'equestrian print scarf' (as I like to call them), black shoes (at least 4") + bag, and you've got the general 'Bri outfit'.

My typical schoolday outfit, but with a slight 'i-enjoy-trecking-through-the-Amazon-when-school-ends-at-3pm' twist.
These from 'Insight Tribal Grunge Low Rider Print Shorts', courtesy of LuLu's, are perfect for the recent heat. Definitely looking forward to pairing these fun tribal print shorts with a little crop top or over swimsuit bottoms during the summer or at the beach. As another addition to the ethnic vibe, I have on a little necklace with teeth (dentures, of course) of some animal that likes carrots or oranges or something. My only other piece of jewelry was the snake ear cuff which I've shown before. I find that to wear things that I'm normally terrified of in real life. Good way to conquer your fears.
For the rest of the outfit, I added some simple, modern pieces that kind of juxtaposed the loose and free-flowing feel of those pieces. For summer, that's the type of look that I tend to lean toward. But in a classroom setting, a complete boho look doesn't appeal to me. First off, I have on a very basic white tank. Over that, I have on an equally basic black blazer. Basic blazers really do the trick when polishing up any look. For accessories, I have on basic black patent pumps and the 'Tell Me About It, Stud Black Purse' from LuLu's which I like wearing either on the shoulder, crossbody, or I do away with the strap completely and just carry it under my arm.

IT'S IN THE PAST OF THE FUTURE.

Aaaand we're back to monochromatic minimalism. Comfort zones aren't always a bad thing.

I'm wearing a black "dress" which is actually three black tank tops layered over one another and then a black bodycon skirt underneath to add tush coverage. Over this, I have on an open-knit knit top courtesy of SugarLips Apparel for texture.
For accessories, I went for my two favorite modern and simple pieces. You guys have probably seen the necklace multiple times already, but the cuff is a new piece that I received from Oasap.

I'll be having exams soon, but afterwards I'll be doing posts for often and spend a bit more time in this description section.
