JEWEL.
There are two types of actual colors that I like. Either muted darks or rich, jewel tones. Burgundy, deep green, and royal blue are my favorites. Mostly because they still look good with my very yellow shade of dead during the winter, when I wear jewel tones the most.
This pretty silk number was gifted to me by my cousin. It's such a nice piece for the summer and I think it'll be put to good use with the black and blue trend this fall/winter.

Some current favorites. 1. I'm normally not into feline animals, but because my sign is Leo, I figured that'd be good enough reason to get this necklace. 2. Recently purchased lipstick. Dior Addict Extreme in Bellissima. I'm shit at describing specific colors, but it's basically a pink based red. 3. Divine cologne from Jo Malone that I will do a quick review on in a moment.
(This is going to be long. I basically ramble on about what I like, don't like, kind of like and kind of don't like like like like)
My fragrance preferences are pretty defined. I like clean, crisp scents that are either unisex or bordering on masculine. Nothing with florals and light on the fruit. Citrus is alright, because the majority of men's colognes have citrus and I've just dealt with it, but I prefer scents in the woody category. Calvin Klein does some perfumes and colognes that I like well enough. But I wanted something stronger and a little more woody.
In sampling basically every single Jo Malone fragrance, I somehow ended up liking Black Vetyver Cafe the best. It's not quite what I normally like. It doesn't have a fresh or clean edge at all, which is usually one of my main points. It's categorized as a spicy scent. As the name insinuates, there's a strong vetyver and coffee scent. The thing that really drew me to it, though, is that it reminds me of Chinese herbal medicine. Not the real thing I'd-rather-wear-Crocs-than-drink-this type of stuff, but the way the medicine smells when it's all packaged up and in a box. Surprisingly something that I don't mind wearing on my skin. I would definitely prefer it to be less smoky, though. This particular one also fades very, very, very quickly. I'm going to need to get a sample size to keep in my bag throughout the day.
The salesgirl also gave me a few other scents that she recommended layering on top. But because the scent is already a bit heavier than I like them, I'd rather keep it alone.
So basically, if you like fresh, clean, or floral scents, this one is not for you. If you like more heavy, rich, complex scents, then you might want to give this one a try. I like it enough and I think it'll be really nice in the colder months.
